Greetings and welcome to Austin University.

I am delighted to welcome you all, and truly pleased that you are considering joining Austin University. When you enroll, you will be part of an engaged academic community of students and professors who are here to help you excel both academically and professionally. The concept of Austin University is to promote educational opportunity and social justice by providing quality university education to all who wish to realize their full potential. Our aim at Austin University is to provide our educational concept to millions of students in developing countries a quality American higher degree, in order to give them the essential tools to start, change and advance their careers and share the world knowledge and prosperity. Mission Statement

Austin University Institutional Learning Outcomes (ILOs)

Austin University focuses on six areas of competencies that students should demonstrate on graduation from its degree programs. These Institutional Learning Outcomes (ILOs) represent the depth of learning experiences that students acquire during their studies and equip them for success in jobs related to their fields of study.

All faculty, students and staff adopt AU’s Learning Outcomes.

Austin University’s Institutional learning Outcomes (ILOs) are:

1. Oral and written communication:

Students will be able to communicate effectively in oral and written forms as well as interact within their individual and professional societies. They will be able to freely express their ideas and voice their opinions in proper and clear language both in writing and verbally.

2. Critical Thinking:

Students will be able to think independently and critically to analyze, explain and find creative solutions for problems through evaluating different alternatives and executing efficient solutions.

3. Quantitative Reasoning:

Students will be able to use numerous methods of analysis and investigation processes to answer questions and solve quantitative problems

4. Information Literacy:

Students will demonstrate technical skills to access and communicate information personally and professionally. They will be able to use technology to keep with the demands of their field of study and their future careers.

5. Global Awareness:

Students will exhibit consciousness, appreciation, and respect for diversity in their personal environment and in the global community. They will be able to demonstrate multicultural competencies and advocate equity and social justice in their communities

To accomplish its purpose, Austin University strives for the following objectives:

– To enable critical and creative thinking and analytical and quantitative reasoning to address practical issues and complex challenges;

– To promote communication in a variety of domains, including writing, speaking, listening and reading, while respecting the impact of technology on effective communication; apply knowledge of diverse and multicultural competencies to advance equality and social justice locally and internationally;

– To provide higher educational and training opportunities that are flexible and accessible and meet current technology and career demands;

– To employ faculty members that have demonstrated expertise both professionally and academically;

– To instill a value for life-long learning and education.

Austin University is a non-profit institution approved to operate by the Bureau for Private Postsecondary Education (bppe.ca.gov).

Any questions a student may have regarding this catalog that have not been satisfactorily answered by the institution may be directed to the Bureau for Private Postsecondary Education at 2535 Capitol Oaks Drive, Suite 400, Sacramento, CA 95833, www.bppe.ca.gov, toll-free telephone number (888) 370-7589 or by fax (916) 263-1897.

As a prospective student, you are encouraged to review the university catalog prior to signing an enrollment agreement. You are also encouraged to review the School Performance Fact Sheet, which must be provided to you prior to signing an enrollment agreement.

A student or any member of the public may file a complaint about this institution with the Bureau for Private Postsecondary Education by calling (888-370-7589) or by completing a complaint form, which can be obtained on the Bureau’s Internet Web site (bppe.ca.gov).

Austin University is a 501c (3) not-for-profit institution with recognized tax-emption status under the laws of the United States Internal Revenue Service (IRS), as well as, the California State Department of the Attorney General, which oversees the tax-exempt status of charitable organizations.

Austin University does not have a pending petition in bankruptcy, and is not operating as a debtor in possession, has not filed a petition within the preceding five years, or has not had a petition in bankruptcy filed against it within the preceding five years that resulted in reorganization under Chapter 11 of the United States Bankruptcy Code (11 U.S.C. Sec. 1101 et seq.).

Austin University students are required to speak English when an instructional setting necessitates the use of English for educational or communication purposes. All classes are taught in English only. Austin University does not offer English as a Second Language.

Austin University is a higher education institution and it provides its programs and classes In-Class, and online. In-Class meetings, attendance requirements, and scheduling will be made available to students upon enrollment and completion of the matriculation process.

This institution is not approved by the U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) to participate in Student and Exchange Visitor Program (SEVP) and is not authorized to issue I-20 visa, therefore this institution cannot accept applications from students from abroad who are on an F-1 or M-1 visa. This institution does not offer any visa services and will not vouch for a student status.

Austin University does not recognize acquired life experience and prior experiential learning as a consideration for enrollment or granting credit towards any of its degree or certificate programs.

Austin University has no dormitory facilities under its control and it does not offer housing and has no responsibility to find or assist a student in finding housing.

Austin University does not offer state or federal financial aid programs.

If student obtains a loan to pay for an educational program, the student will have the responsibility to repay the full amount of the loan plus interest, less the amount of any refund, and that, if the student has received federal student financial aid funds, the student is entitled to a refund of the amount not paid from federal student financial aid program funds.

Austin University does not have an articulation agreement or transfer agreement with any other college or university at the present time.

Austin University is not accredited at the present time. Austin University’s degree programs are not accredited by an accrediting agency recognized by the United States Department of Education (USDE).

A degree program that is unaccredited or a degree from an unaccredited institution is not recognized for some employment positions, including, but not limited to, positions with the State of California.

Students enrolled in an unaccredited institution are not eligible for federal financial aid programs.

Austin University Academic Catalog is reviewed on an annual basis by a committee of advisory council members, administrative staff, and faculty. In view of new policies or procedures implemented by the Bureau for Private Postsecondary Education (BPPE) prior to the issuance of the annually updated catalog, Board of Directors appoints the Chief Academic Officer responsible to monitor new policies and procedures.

Addendums, if required, will be published on an annual basis.
