Challenge

The connection between conflict and poverty is a serious concern for the international community.  Peace breeds stability within communities, giving people the opportunity to raise themselves out of poverty, according to The Economist magazine.  Education promotes personal agency, giving a person the ability to pursue improvements in the quality of his or her own life and the lives of his or her family.  According to CFTC, those who receive better education are more equipped to obtain gainful employment, giving them better personal agency.

Problem

The education systems in under developed countries splits into two tiers, with high-quality private education available only to the wealthy minority and low-quality public education the sole option for most citizens. Such a trend would turn education into a “means of perpetuating social stratification and poverty” rather than a means of increasing social equality.

Fact

A high-quality American College degree is a valuable commodity especially for students in under developed countries, so whatever their interests, chances are they will be able to pursue them if they study for American College degree.
